The history of economic recovery offers a clear message: only those companies and only those nations that are innovative will recover and emerge stronger and healthier than before. Innovation - the ability to have great new ideas and put them to work - is the core driver of economic success in our times. Thus, as our nations emerge from the most severe economic crisis in decades we must be singularly focused on enabling innovation - in the private sector, but in particular in the public sector.

Innovative governance will make the difference between recovery and recession, between success and failure, between victory and defeat. In this executive education program, we explain how innovation in the public sector is possible, and what can be done to make it happen.

Going beyond the big picture of innovation, and to the practical, we look at the beneficial role of technology to spur and enable innovation. We examine how technology can be used best, and what other factors play a role in making innovation happen. We'll learn through cases from the successes and failures of others, and thus avoid making similar mistakes. We look at the central role information plays in fueling innovation, and take a hard look at emerging challenges and future opportunities - together with our technology partners.
